Moonlit Night

So much, I need to tell you on this peaceful moonlit night,

Words to take you places … love … with dreams I’ll hold you tight.

My fingers tap the rhythm, to the beating of my heart.

The tapestry is woven … by this poet’s winsome art.

~

So much, I need to hold you, that my mind holds nothing else.

My thoughts like misted memories, to which the soul avails.

The trembling of my hands I find, I’ve never felt so free.

And yet I know, for all we are, two ships that pass at sea

~

So much, I long to taste your lips, the sweetness of your sigh.

The nectar of the rising moist, the auburn shadowed thigh.

To bring you close, then let you go, to take you full within.

To breathe the fragrance of your rush, which beads your supple skin.

~

So much, I wish our moment would stay long within my prayer.

To bring this debted man the fruit, whose nectar we both share.

I write these words, am guided, by this love I know that’s true.

This tapestry is woven, by the thread of strength in you.

~

So much I long to tell you …

On this peaceful moonlit night.
